<div>Reclaimed materials combined with low technology are key to the design.  The materials themselves were the starting point for inspiration plus how I could use them in a revolutionary technique informed by mosaic method.  I positioned the glass end-on to allow maximum natural light to play through and around the surface and show-off as much of the delicious qualities of the sea-worn glass.  I also wanted the work to have a night function by  adding the glass on rose coloured glass dome substrate that glows through the surface when illuminated from behind by low energy light source.  Initial design ideas revolved around the sun but as the work evolved it took on an organic growth-like form emphasised further with the forged stainless steel tendrils set amongst the spiky glass forms.</div>
